Bangkok's New Airport Railway Links

Thursday, 23 September 2010

On August 23, 2010 two new railway lines have opened in Bangkok, City Line is a commuter line that is also linked through to the Airport Express Line is a link to the airport in particular.
Both lines only between 06:00 midnight and disadvantages that may occur at significant Airport 24 hours to think to check the time it is particularly difficult to do many leave in the morning using the new rail link.
Other issues included the launch of the label is not very good, and the lack of media promotion, especially in English. Lack of baggage cart Makkasan a big problem.

City Line
City Line trains run every 15 minutes will be 160 kilometers per hour and 30 minutes from Suvarnabhumi to Phayathai.
There are six stops between Phaya Thai and the airport. Most of these are not relevant to tourists except, possibly, Ratchaprarop, and of course the integrity of the time Makkasan.
Phayathai good exchange with the BTS, said the expectation of something and walked none to help with luggage cart.

BTS Skytrain

Phayathai BTS Sukhumvit Line on the Quick Access to the station between Siam and Phrom Phong, all of which are important to tourists, especially in terms of housing. To be specific, these Siam, Chidlom, Ploenchit, Nana, Asok (with the exchange to the Metro system, MRT) and Phrom Phong.
Siam may be used to exchange the BTS Silom line for quick access to the National Stadium. In this area the bank was essentially out of the accommodation in the sois of Rama I. And you will get into the Bangrak area for shopping attractions and accommodation around the Silom, Suriwongse Road and Charoen Krung. Patpong are infamous in this area.
Sala Daeng stations are particularly useful as a gateway to all of this district. Silom is also the exchange into the MRT subway system, please note, particularly if carrying luggage that this exchange is quite a long walk.Express Line

The Express Line takes 15 minutes between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Makkasan, using trains capable of 160 kilometres per hour. Departures are every 30 minutes.

At Makkasan you have to change onto the City Line, making the Express Line largely irrelevant at inauguration. This will change when full airport check-in is available at Makkasan, prior to your arrival at the airport. Such check-in facilities are expected to be operational before the end of 2010.
Promotional Fares

Through to the end of 2010, a special flat-rate promotional fare of 15 Baht per single journey is being offered on the City Line. On the Express Line a 100 Baht promotional return fare is being offered until the Makkasan check-in becomes operational.
